It’s one of my favourite towns and I have spent a lot of time there finding the best places to unwind over coffee. From hand-roasted brews to local ingredients, there’s something for every coffee lover. Our guide is the perfect starting point for your journey through this amazing city.

Lu Coffee lives up to its excellent reputation, with a variety of coffee options including pour over and Italian coffee, as well as a small but delicious selection of baked goods. The attentive staff took the time to check in on us and ensure we were happy, and the comfortable seating options make it easy to both chat with friends and settle in for a study session. The non-invasive music adds to the ambiance and makes for a pleasant experience overall. I’ve returned to Da Nang several times and this peaceful cafe is always a reliable choice for focussing on some writing.

This chilled out coffee garden is a delightful hidden gem, recommended to me by a friend. Tucked away on a quiet back street, the tranquil atmosphere is perfectly in line with the Japanese koi garden vibe. The drinks are top-notch, and the space is beautifully arranged. It can get quite busy, even on a Sunday evening, so I recommend arriving early to secure a spot.

Experience great service from the kind staff at this relaxing escape from the heat. They offer delicious western-style breakfast options, such as eggs benedict, and aromatic specialty coffee brewed in-house. An occasional 90’s power ballad on the playlist adds to the enjoyable ambiance, though the music selection is varied. Drink prices are reasonable for this prime tourist area. If you come to Da Nang and want to relax near My Khe Beach, this is the place. It serves as a kind of home base for many visitors because you can rely on the coffee quality. The front area offers a great spot to watch the street activity; being at a main intersection, you might even spot a few dogs riding by with their humans on motorbikes.
4. The Local Beans

The Local Beans is a merging of several smaller cafes which are now 1 large centrally located on the city side cafe with massive areas for relaxation, study and work. Multiple levels with beautiful greenery and a friendly dog that helps oversee the staff who roast the coffee. If you need a place to work or just relax on the city side this is great spot with large modern desks, power points and great music selection of old hits. And for a secret update I think they are opening a new location near the My Khe beach soon. in 2025
5. Út Tịch Café

If you’re near Cho Han market, make sure to stop by Ut Tich. While there are several cafes on the same road, Ut Tich is my favorite due to its roadside vibe and popularity among locals and Korean tourists. It’s a fun place to sit and people-watch while enjoying the view of the river. The coffee is great, and the staff will come and take your order right there on the road. Also, don’t forget to try their bear cake!
6. HICHI Coffee

HICHI Coffee is a secluded and calming sanctuary for coffee fans in the city. At the front is some of Da Nang’s most impressive architecture. But as you walk behind is a modern caffeine paradise. Many small buildings with indoor and outdoor seating. A must-try.
7. Khau.caphe Da Nang

On the city side of Hai Chau this one is a serene relaxed spot for students and young people in the area. It’s in a backstreet away from the busy traffic, it’s got trees and relaxed vibe. They play alternative music and make quality drinks. I usually get a salt coffee or a fresh orange juice “ep cam”. Small selection of snacks. Also cool to meet at night with loved one or friends.
8. Dreamer

A serene and comfortable location in the early hours of the day. It features a pleasant outdoor garden and an indoor shop with craft items for sale. The lovely outdoor courtyard attracts young influencers who frequently come and go, capturing stunning photos. When I visited some parents were taking pictures of their well-behaved and outfitted children.
9. XLIII Specialty Coffee

Changing its name from the previous 43 Factory Coffee Roaster, visitors to XLIII Specialty Coffee are struck by its beautiful industrial-style décor. The knowledgeable staff members are passionate about their coffee, which comes in various flavors and textures with full descriptions of the bean sources. This is a high-end place where you can be educated about coffee and the bean sources. The prices reflect that but it’s definitely worth it for those who like a premium connoisseur-level high-quality service. Also features a great food menu with items such as chicken salad and cakes such as canelé.
This cafe has become a staple for digital nomads and locals alike, known for its great coffee and conducive work atmosphere. The minimalist decor and ample natural light make it a pleasant place to spend a few hours. It’s also conveniently located near the An Thuong area.
