Hanoi - 8 Unforgettable Coffee Destinations

Hanoi’s Hidden Gems: 8 Top Unforgettable Coffee Destinations

Hanoi was the first Vietnamese city I visited, and it was love at first sight. I was blown away by the architecture, frenetic energy, and history. I visited the Museum of Ethnography, where I learned about the 54 officially recognized ethnic groups throughout the country, and I tasted the many local street foods. A friend introduced me to egg coffee, and showed me the city's best spots. It was at this time that I discovered the insane level of Vietnam's love for coffee.

The number of high-quality coffee shops is beyond anything I have experienced in any country, and the people who run them are proud of what they do and offer high-quality products and service. This is the best location in the world for a coffee lover. Here, I offer a selection to get you started. These are some of my favorites, but the list is endless.

  • Cafe Yen
Address: 51 P. Bát Đàn, Cửa Đông, Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội, Vietnam
    Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/zvzVNAtcihAXjkYN8

Incredible coffee and a menu full of signature drinks - this chain is one of the best in Hanoi with multiple locations. Their signature egg coffee was my personal favorite. A must-try for coffee lovers.
  • Sii Coffee
Address: Nguyen Binh Khiem 16A Nguyễn Bỉnh Khiêm, Nguyễn Du, Hai Bà Trưng, Hà Nội, Vietnam
    Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/HuPiwMomAD6sQMfi7

A fantastic place to work or catch up with friends over delicious drinks. Offers a wide range of coffee and non-coffee beverages, including tea and kombucha, along with some food options. Features comfortable seating, strong Wi-Fi, and plenty of outlets. I personally prefer sitting upstairs inside for a quieter experience compared to the balcony with street noise.
  • Lets Cafe
Address: 48 P. Trần Quốc Toản, Trần Hưng Đạo, Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội, Vietnam
    Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/JpwYag79ZzMbWVQV9

Awesome service by the staff! Ideal place for people watching. The street is less congested compared to other areas, making it a great spot to relax and observe the locals starting their day with a cup of coffee, picked up on their bikes on their way to work. Cool community vibe, definitely worth checking out!
  • Cà Phê Hai Bốn
Address: Dã Tượng 11 P. Dã Tượng, Trần Hưng Đạo, Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội, Vietnam
    Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/ugqZ5DyCWGwq44FF6

They nailed the sweetness level and all at a reasonable price. Friendly staff too. The balcony seating is a nice touch and preferable to sitting on the street. The building architecture is also classic and photogenic. Highly recommended.
  • Blackbird Coffee Lan Ong
Address: 63B P. Lãn Ông, Hàng Bồ, Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội, Vietnam
    Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/sRZFw9z9nogtrbfR8

A Must-Visit for Coffee Lovers in Hanoi. With its charming backyard garden and delicious coffee, this location is my favorite among all Blackbird locations in Hanoi. The friendly service only adds to the experience, and the strong WiFi makes it a great spot for working while sipping on a perfectly brewed pour-over or mocha.
  • Lermalermer
Address: 16 Ng. Yên Thế, Văn Miếu, Đống Đa, Hà Nội, Vietnam
    Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/izyU8nj3eTgTXcBi9

Stumbling across Leralermer was a fantastic experience, trying Vietnamese coffee for the first time, both the iced coffee with condensed milk and egg coffee were delicious. Lemon cake was a bit small but still tasty. Located in a narrow alley, the effort to find it was worth it. The café embodies the essence of art with its quaint storybook-like decor and cozy seating arrangements. The creative drinks and friendly service only add to the overall charming atmosphere. Highly recommended.
  • TOKA COFFEE
Address: 36 P. Thi Sách, Ngô Thì Nhậm, Hai Bà Trưng, Hà Nội 10000, Vietnam
    Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/8saGng5RdeX8kaCSA

A serene oasis awaits you with decent Wi-Fi, comfortable seating, and work-friendly tables. Savor the rich flavors of their exceptional Arabica espresso while soaking in the beauty of the lush courtyard, complete with plants and soothing jazz music. The friendly service only adds to the overall great experience. Don't miss out on this fantastic stop!
